Chancery docket, 1837-1857.

Summary record of proceedings in chancery cases showing title of case and a record of the actions taken in court, including the judgment. The territorial district courts and subsequently the circuit courts had specific chancery (equity) jurisdiction until 1856 when the distinction between actions at law and suits in equity was abolished. The record includes many land purchase and mortgage foreclosure cases and the maps are hand-drawn ones of the property involved. Vol. 1 covers 1837-1842; Vol. 2, 1843-1857.
